There is hereby created a position to be known as the chairman pro tem which position
shall act as the emergency interim successor in accordance with O.C.G.A. 38-3-50(f).
The chairman pro tem shall be designated and resume the duties of the Chairman of
the Paulding County Board of Commissioners in the event the chairman is unavailable
to exercise the powers and discharge the duties of the chairman's office, until a
successor is appointed or elected and qualified, or until the chairman or the successor
is able to resume the exercise of the powers and the discharge of the duties of the
office of the chairman.
The chairman pro tem shall be designated as one of the Post Commissioners of the Paulding
County Board of Commissioners.
In accordance with the nominating and confirmation procedures in place for Paulding
County, the chairman shall nominate the post commissioner selected to assume the post
of chairman pro tem and such nomination shall be subject to a vote and confirmation
by the Paulding County Board of Commissioners.
