§ 2-64. Suspending the rules of order.

  • Rules of order may be suspended in the case of an emergency. A motion to suspend the rules requires a second, is debatable and requires a majority vote of the board of commissioners. Rules governing quorum (section 2-51), voting methods and requirements (section 2-52 and section 2-53), the notification to commissioners of meetings (section 2-48 and section 2-49) and rules necessary for compliance with state law cannot be suspended.
