§ 62-4. Weight limitation on bridges and requirements for weight certification.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle across any bridge within the unincorporated areas of the county when the gross weight of the vehicle exceeds the posted weight limitation for that county bridge.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person operating a motor vehicle with more than six wheels in the unincorporated area of the county carrying any material thereon and utilizing any county road or county bridge without having in the possession of the operator of the motor vehicle proof of the gross weight of the vehicle and materials contained in such vehicle.

    (c)

    Any person convicted of violating subsections (a) and (b) of this section may be cited by any authorized person including the county marshal, county sheriff's department, state patrol or state department of public safety.

    (d)

    Any person convicted of violating subsections (a) and (b) of this section may be punished as a misdemeanor as set forth in section 1-19 of this Code.
